Sturgis 2009

can anyone suggest accomadations for Sturgis 2009. Really want to go. So anyone that rents a house, cabin, hotel, motel. Even if its 30 miles from sturgis. any suggestions anyone?

If you go to the Sturgis Rally web site, there are listings for many places. Last year we stayed at a campgound that also rents cabins. It is called Lake Park Campground and it is really pretty and not far from Sturgis. It is located southwest of downtown Rapid City (about 5 minutes) but feels quiet and woodsy. It is located on a lake and very near several tourist sites. There are several ways to get to Sturgis through the hills from there (all within about 30 miles) and the monuments are only about 20 minutes or so away. The website is Lakeparkcampground.com. If we decide to go to Sturgis next year that is where we want to stay again. The showers were always clean, there is a small laundry on site and another larger laundromat within 1/2 block. If they are full, there is a motel/cabins right next store (don%26#39;t remember the name).

I think there are other websites too, as well as local rental agencies. The home style facilities might not be fancy, but you will get the best deal renting someone%26#39;s spare room or basement.

Of course, you have to remember you are in someones home, so please behave appropriately. If you want to just get drunk and party all night, there are plenty of campgrounds around town.
