Has anyone been to the July 3rd fireworks at Mt. Rushmore? Is there a designated area to sit and watch them or can you set up lawn chairs anywhere you want? I hear you have to get there really early.

In brief, I think the current crowd expectation is 30,000 to 40,000. The parking lot opens at 7 am, fills by 10 am. You can bring lawnchairs, but can%26#39;t set them up in the amphitheater, which also fills up early. I would guess security has a system for setting up chairs.
