What types of night time family activities are available besides the laser light shows at Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse? We will be visiting in July.
Night time activities around Mt. Rushmore
At Rushmore, the visitor%26#39;s center, restaurants, and gift shops will be open at night. Once it gets dark, the Presidential Trail won%26#39;t be accessible. The lighting ceremony starts at 9 p.m. unless you are visting after 8/15. After this time, it begins at 8 p.m. The ceremony is really the main attraction and is very moving. It honors our veterans and culminates with them getting up on stage to participate in the flag folding ceremony. The memorial is illuminated immediately following.
I have not seen the laser show at Crazy Horse, but I heard it was quite good. I would imagine this would be the main draw here, but I would also think the gift shop and restaurant would be open as well--not sure on the closing time of the Native American exhibits.

Keep in mind the altitude is over 5000%26#39; and you will probably be tired after a day of activities. We were asleep by 10pm!
