I will be flying into Denver International and going up to Sturgis where I will be camping, but can anyone recommend a hotel around the half way point to stop at on the way up? (long flight so dont want to do the whole trip in one go).Preferably somewhere nice not too far off main highway, or would we be better stopping first night in Denver area? Many thanks.

My first thought too was Cheyenne. Just far enough from Denver to shorten the next day%26#39;s drive. Lots of choices. Or, even though I-25 does not go through them Boulder and Greely exits all have clusters of motels and restaurants. Or, a bit beyond Cheyenne there are motels at Wheatland and Lusk. Either way it is probably better to book something in advance and not knowing in advance how tired you might be probably opt for no farther than Cheyenne. Cheyenne to Sturgis can easily be done in a morning%26#39;s drive via US-18/US-85.
