We plan to travel to the badlands area this summer and are looking for suggestions on where to stay (town %26amp; facility). We are traveling with a 10 %26amp; 7 year old and are considering hotel or cabin, but trying to stay on a budget (around $100/night or less if possible). Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
Thanks!!

A great place to stay is Circle View Guest Ranch at Interior, SD which is just south of the Badlands loop. The ranch is an hour from Rapid City. Their rates would work with your budget and offer a discount for 3 nights (circleviewranch.com). The price also includes a delicious breakfast. It is a working cattle ranch and a wonderful place to visit the Badlands. Make sure you take in sunset and sunrise at the Badlands. In the Badlands, take some hikes, but go early in the morning or late afternoon as it gets hot there. Also, take along and drink lots of water.

Thanks for the tip. Sounds like a neat place. We%26#39;ll check it out!
I agree with CircleView. It is a fun ';out west'; experience for families. Try to pull in noon-ish to the Badlands, ';see'; the Badlands and do some hikes (they%26#39;re short) then spend the rest of the afternoon and evening at Circleview. In the morning, do one more hike (Try the Notch Trail, my boys loved it (8 %26amp; 11)) but plan on being done noon-ish because it gets HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I%26#39;ve stayed twice before at Cedar Pass Lodge in the Badlands and woud recommend it. Cabins right in the park-very basic, beds and a bathroom, no phone, no tv but the most incredible setting and very affordable. Our last trip we stayed in Wall at the Econolodge and I would also recommend that. Again, not fancy but a spacious room and comfortable and clean. Right outside the entrance to the Badlands, nice outdoor pool and free breakfast.
Circle View Ranch is definately the place to stay in the Badlands. Dramatic view, friendly people, fantastic breakfast. It%26#39;s more than accomodations, it%26#39;s a unique experience that you will never forget. Check out their web site.
We traveled to Badlands - Black Hills SD and Devil%26#39;s Tower WY area last summer. For Badlands we highly recommend Circle View Ranch for a non-generic type experience. It%26#39;s about the same cost as a motel. For Black Hills we recommend Rim Rock Lodge in Spearfish Canyon, Blue Bell Lodge in Custer State Park (features a really GREAT haywagon ride and western style picnic). For the Devil%26#39;s Tower WY area there%26#39;s a neat little motel at Keyhole State Park.
We are traveling to the Badlands this fall and we definitely WON%26#39;T be staying at Circle View. I took a look at their web site and it doesn%26#39;t look like our kind of place. We are into nature and the environment, and aren%26#39;t big meat eaters. These folks encourage their guests to hunt prairie dogs. There are pictures on their web site of people holding up dead prairie dogs. Yuck. We don%26#39;t like this rancher mentality, and we%26#39;d rather stay at the Days Inn in Wall.
Get ready for hunters.....the West is full of them! ;)
