We are flying in to Rapid City Sat. morning and will Fly out of Denver Monday afternoon. We have rented a car and things we want to do are, Mt Rushmore,Crazy Horse,Badlands,Custer. Are interested in scenic routes to each of these. Sat night our hotel is in Rapid City, but we are trying to decide where else to stay on Sunday night. Really don%26#39;t know much about this area, is this all possible in such a short time???!!! This was a spur of the moment trip, we really want to see this area! Tips or help greately appreciated!

I would need a little more information in order to really help you. I%26#39;m not sure why you are flying in and out of 2 locations. I can only assume you are seeing some sights in the Denver area, however, I have no idea how you will fit it all in.

You really aren%26#39;t going to have a lot of time, since you are flying out in the afternoon. It%26#39;s a 6 hour drive from Rapid to Denver.

When you say Custer, do you mean the town, or Custer State Park? There isn%26#39;t a whole lot to see in the town itself. Keep in mind you need close to a day to see the highlights of Custer SP.

With not quite 2 full days, be careful not to overplan. To see them thoroughly, the places you mention take time. If you were flying in and out of Rapid, it would help, but the 2 locations will make it difficult to see your list. You could see the Badlands upon your arrival on Saturday, and you might be able to see the lighting ceremony that evening at Rushmore. You will also want to see the monument by day, which can easily take 2-3 hours, and the exhibits at Crazy Horse, along with the monument, can easily take a morning. Honestly, as much as I enjoy Crazy Horse, with your limited time, you might consider seeing it from the road.

With you limited time, I would not focus on scenic routes. Many of the attractions in the Hills are surrounded by lovely scenery, so you won%26#39;t be at a loss for it.

Please provide us with more details so we can help you more. Thanks!
