decided to spend some time at Custer Park this June..was just searching online and every campground I try says no availablity..lodges too..does anyone know if its possible to find lodging without reservations?

Just 20 miles south of the town of Custer is Wind Cave National Park. It has a campground and the caretaker says he had never seen it full in the years he had been working there.

Yes, it is possible to find places. I would also look at the RV park type places. Most have tent areas as well as camping cabins. We stayed in Custer and had a quick drive into the park.

Center Lake in CSP is first come/first serve. It is where we usually camp.

Check with Wind Cave National Park regarding the campground. When we were there last week, it was completely closed for construction. The opening date was unknown.
we booked a little over a month ago and the choices were very limited then. we were able to get into an electric site in blue bell. i spoke with a relative and she said they have camped at sylvan lake a few times and book in november.
