Are the tourist attractions still open in November?

We%26#39;re planning a road trip from Canada to Phoenix in November 2009. We really want to go through South Dakota and see Mt Rushmore, the Black Hills and the town from the 1800%26#39;s. Can we enter these attractions even in November?

Also what is the weather like in South Dakota in the month of November? (we%26#39;re planning to go in the early party, but it might not happen until the latter part of the month, depending on what time we get off from our jobs)

thanks

Mt. Rushmore will be open, but I%26#39;m not sure about the 1880 town. When you visit their website, it tells you to check for off season hours. The Black Hills is a region in SD; there are many attractions in the region, some of which will not be open. The major attractions will be open, including the Badlands, Wind %26amp; Jewel Caves, Crazy Horse, %26amp; Devil%26#39;s Tower, but keep in mind that your visit could be affected by snow. Average highs in November are in the 40%26#39;s, and average lows are in the 20%26#39;s. Also, the attractions won%26#39;t have the accessibility they would have in peak summer season. I would play it by ear and see what happens. You could always get lucky.

People live there year round and get around quite nicely, so you can do plenty.

There is a ski area out there, so there very well could be some snow. Deadwood is definitely open all year, and the interior atmospheres of the caves would not change much.

You won%26#39;t have to deal with motorcycles, which is a plus!
