We are traveling through Keystone as we travel to Colorado. What are the most important sites to see in a two day period? We are definitely going to Rushmore. What else is a ';must do?';
Thanks for any advice!!!

With such limited time, I would be careful to not overplan. I would try to focus on Custer State Park, seeing Sylvan Lake and driving the Needles Hwy., Wildlife Loop,and Iron Mountain Road. You could drive Iron Mountain on the way to Mt. Rushmore. You could drive Iron Mountain Rd on the way to Mt. Rushmore. When visting Mt Rushmore, be sure to see it both day and night. The lighting ceremony is very moving.
If you have any extra time, you might consider seeing Crazy Horse, Jewel Cave, or Wind Cave.

Thank you so much. I will take your advice. I had heard Custer State park was good to see, so we will definitely do that and the drives you suggested.
: )
Word of warning! Last August we decided on a spur-of-the-moment trip to Mr Rushmore that was going to be a short 2 day stay. After seeing Mt Rushmore we discovered Keystone and decided to stay there. We had so much to see and do in Keystone and around the area, we stayed for 4 days! Our 14 yr old dd loved this mini trip so much, we are going back this summer and extending our time. This year we plan on staying in Keystone for awhile, then moving on to Deadwood and on to Devil%26#39;s Tower and who knows where from there.
We rode the 1880 train to Hill City and back, did the Mt Rushmore thing, Needles Highway, Slyvan Lake, Custer State park, Bear Country, Reptile Gardens, Mystery Spot, and all the things to do in Keystone, including the Alpine Slide.
Then of course we had to stop at Wall Drug in Wall. This is a must see.
If you can%26#39;t stop at Wall on your way to Keystone, try to make it a must stop on the way back.
Have a great trip!
