Deadwood/Spearfish Canyon/Murdo???

My husband and I have 2 days to travel from Omaha, NE to Keystone, SD. After we arrive in Keystone we have 3 days to visit Mt. Rushmore, Custer SP, Crazy Horse, etc. but what should we do with our 2 days on the way to Keystone? The Badlands and a stop at Wall Drug are a must but what about the rest of the time? We enjoy history and the outdoors. Should we stop at the 1880%26#39;s town in Murdo, spend time in Deadwood (not the casinos) or drive to Spearfish canyon? Or won%26#39;t we time for any of that? Any input will be appreciated.

Deadwood/Spearfish Canyon/Murdo???

You could see the 1880%26#39;s town while in the Badlands, but Deadwood/Spearfish are a bit out of the way enroute to Keystone leg. Both are north of Keystone. In order to hit these enroute, coming in from the Badlands, you%26#39;d have to continue on I-90, north of Rapid City, getting off at Spearfish to drive 14A (Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway). Continue on 14A into Deadwood, and then you can head down 385 into Keystone. Rt. 385 is a very nice drive; the Pactola Lake area is beautiful. It will be a longer drive, but it may be worth it to you to see these areas. You could also do these areas as a daytrip from Keystone. It would be quite easy.
