I would like to take my kids to a fish hatchery while we are in the area. Is there different stuff at the one in spearfish vs the one in rapid city? Should we do both, or is one better than the other. Thanks!
Fish Hatcheries
The Cleghorn Springs hatchery in Rapid City has just been rebuilt and I think is better for visitors than it used to be. But the DC Booth hatchery in Spearfish would still be my choice. It%26#39;s a beautiful historic site that visitors really seem to enjoy.
Not sure what your itinerary is like--but you could easily combine a visit to the Spearfish hatchery with a drive of Spearfish Canyon (among other things) in a day.
